According to the Cook County Sheriff Office, a 26 -year -old man was accused of a 26 -year -old man after highlighting a warehouse filled with suspected stolen shoes of $ 1 million from the west of Chicago.
Officials said Eric Lujano Botista was allegedly leaving a warehouse in the 1500 blocks of the South Western Avenue. The Sheriff Department learned in January that a large number of shoes were being placed in that warehouse and after investigation, the authorities recovered about 1 million dollars of nikes and new balance shoes, believed to be stolen.
Police said Lujano Botista was not an authorized vendor of shoes. He was accused of theft, a class 1 hooliganism. He has been released from detention pending tests. Shoe companies are continue to work with the authorities to determine the status of the remaining goods.
The Sheriff Department recovered stolen goods of $ 3.6 million last year. Officials said that the latest operation would bring “more than $ 4.5 million” in the last nine months.
