Mark Beuharle was cutting grass on a lawn grass -cutting machine at his home in his Missouri last summer, when he received a call from Jerry Reinsdorf, president of the Chicago White Sox.
Beuharle returned the call and received the “crazy” news.
The Sax 2005 will unveil the statue of the left -handed left -handed pitcher in the rate field on July 11 as part of the reunion of the 2005 World Series Championship team.
Sox on Friday announced this during a panel discussion on ’05 Champions’ in Socksfest Live.
“Incredible,” said Beeharle. “A type of damage of words. He retired my number (number 56 in 2017), this is an incredible honor. To install an idol of mine, there, forever. I think the number can be united and removed and brought back to trend. But the idol, until someone breaks it or does nothing with it, will always remain there.
“I really don’t have words for this, but it’s a wonderful feeling.”
Beuharle spent 12 of his 16 Major-League season with socks (2000–11), with 390 games for the club (365 begin) with 3.83 ERA to 161–119. Four of his five all-stars came with socks, as well as three of his four gold glove prizes.
Beuharle picked a no-hitter pitch against Texas on 18 April 2007 and played a perfect game against Tampa Bay on July 23, 2009.
He made franchise-riddles nine opening-day beginning (2002-06, 2008-11) and worked throughout the year, played at least 200 innings for 14 consecutive seasons with Sax, Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jazz.
Beuharle said, “This is something that I have always said, you go deep in the game, your victory is certain, if you are playing late in the game and playing enough innings then everything else will be useful. ” “This is what I had to do. So I am proud of this. ”
Team’s partner Jose Contraras and Freddy Garcia and Hall of Famer Herold Bans were also on stage as part of the 2005 panel discussion and congratulated them. During the program, Beuharle also bought a beer round for fans present at the Ramova Theater in Bridport on Friday.
Beeharle said, “It was good to come back and see some people, I have probably been 10 or 12 years since I have seen some of these people.” “I do not keep in touch with many people. Perhaps no lesson here or there during Christmas. It is good for them to see more video content. ”
In addition to a video on the 2005 team, Sox also shown preview of the construction of the statue of Beuharle. It will be the 10th person and ninth statue in Ballpark.
