Thousands of costco workers on Friday prepared to strike with midnight deadline, while the workers’ union and the company held talks.

The Teamstors Union represents 18,000 costco workers in six states: California, Washington, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and New York.

It is not clear that the strike will close the store. Costco has 219,000 American employees and 617 American stores. The company said that its labor agreement with the teams applies to less than 10% of those shops.

On January 20, members of the teams in CostCo voted heavy in favor of the strike, if a new three -year contract agreement was not signed till midnight on Friday at the end of the current contract.
