Tiger Woods asked to play in the origin invitation next week – his first PGA tour event after July

San Diego – Tiger Woods on Friday committed to play the origin invitation in Tore Pines, returning to one of his favorite places to start his first PGA tour since the British Open in July.

Woods must be playing – and walk – 18 holes in the competition for the first time, because there was a microdiscuctomy in September to reduce the pain under his feet, his sixth surgery on his lower back. He will compete nine days after the loss of his mother, Kultida Woods, who died on Tuesday at the age of 80.

The 49 -year -old Woods is the host of Genesis Invitational, which was transferred from the Riviera Country Club due to a wildfire, which destroyed the Los Angeles community around the Pacific Palesades.

He never won in Riviera, but his eight wins in Tore Pines include the 2008 US Open. Public courses with the Pacific Ocean are also a site of his recent top -10 finish on the PGA Tour, a tie for the Ninth in the Kisan Insurance Open in 2020.

Genesis invitation is a limited-sector signature event that has no deduction. Woods did not play four rounds at an event since last year’s Masters, when he broke the tournament record for a continuous cut with his 24th. He secured the final place among the shooters of 82-77 over the weekend. He played the other three major championships last year, cutting each time.

The 15 -time prominent champion, Woods, has an 82 PGA tour win, which is tied for the most time with Sam Saned. His last win was the Zozo Championship in 2019.

He missed 2021 after a rollover car accident in Los Angeles in February of that year, causing serious injuries to his lower right leg.

Woods released the informal incident in December, which hosted the Hero World Challenge in December, but played an exhibition with his son, Charlie and competed in the indoor TGL League.
