The Costco and Teamstors Union have reached a temporary agreement on a new contract, escaping a strike, the Sangh said on Saturday.
Teamstors spokesman Matthew McCude confirmed the agreement, which would have to be approved by the members. Details of the agreement were not available immediately. The Associated Press left a message demanding a comment with the costco.
The Teamstors Union represents 18,000 costco workers in six states: California, Washington, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and New York. Overall, Costco has 219,000 American employees and 617 American stores. The company said that its labor agreement with the teams applies to less than 10% of those shops.
On January 20, members of the teams in CostCo voted heavy in favor of the strike, if a new three -year contract agreement was not signed till midnight on Friday at the end of the current contract.
